O: No good fecal to collect from crate. L wing/body tape wrap intact. Fluids appear absorbed over abdomen and inguinals. AU bruising still present. Gave SQ fluids in R inguinal. Gave oral meds. Retrieved 20g of whole mouse/rabbit meat scrap. HF 5g of clean rabbit.

O: Caught for meds, dropped 23g rat (not an ideal piece because it had lots of thick fur)

S: On perch, clacked at handler. No feces, did not eat.

O: Tape body wrap in place. Bird did not fully absorb SQ fluids from last night, which likely accounts for increase in weight. Very visual OU, bruising AS. IOPs WNL (14 OS, 15 OD). Can feel medially displaced coracoid fracture on palpation of L shoulder without removing wrap. Wiped down with Adams. Pelvis feels stable on palpation but bones slightly asymmetric from L pelvis fracture. Attempted to draw blood from the L medial metatarsal vein but insulin needle was too large.
Meloxicam 0.5 mg-kg: 0.02 cc (1.5 mg/ml compounded) PO
Tramadol: 0.03 cc (25 mg/ml compounded ) PO

A: HBC owl with displaced coracoid fracture, will need to stabilize with body wrap for several weeks but will not be able to determine flight releasability until after fracture is healed. Pelvic fracture is mild and already feels stable, bird standing and using feet well.

P: Monitor for fluid absorption. Change tape body wrap every 3 d with PT.

O: Checked vitals. Took temp by touch as thermometer was too big. Performed intake exam. Took rads. Applied paper tape around L wing and body. Gave fluids in R inguinal. Gave oral meds. Placed in crate in ICU. Dropped 22g of mouse.

Mentation: BAR
Neurologic: Alert
Head/mouth/beak: Mouth tacky mucous membrane.
Ears: Bruising AU. Swelling AS.
Eyes: Light striations to retinas OU.
Wings: NSF
Legs: NSF
Feet: NSF
Body: L shoulder fx. L scapula felt stable.
Ectoparasites: Lice
Radiographic findings: L clavicle and coracoid fracture. Very displaced. R pelvic fracture.
Initial treatment: 0.02cc Meloxicam; 0.03cc Tramadol; 3.5cc LRS SQ.

A: Patient presented with L shoulder fracture from likely vehicle collision. L shoulders are very displaced. R pelvis also fractured on x-rays. Will stabilize and see how bones heal.

P: Monitor L wing/body tape wrap, change PRN. Monitor leg use. Spray with Adams. Rx meloxicam, tramadol, fluids, calcium slurry. Vet check 12/12. Collect blood, fecal. Take IOPs.
